Hello! Here are some of my recent projects that I have enjoyed working on. I hope you enjoy going through them. Let me know if you have any questions at samiasingh@gmail.com
RESEARCH DESIGN:
UK & China based research on international students and their views on online learning during the Pandemic in UK Universities
The impact of an illustrated report vs plain text is incomparable. The reader is able to digest the information in well designed sections and pages at a pace which is engaging. Here are some of the findings from the pandemic in the context of online teaching by UK universities.

This report is based on the research conducted by Dr. Cristina Costa, Durham University, UK & Dr. Huaping Li, Shanghai Normal University, China, funded by the British Academy Small Grants.
The strategy of moving teaching and learning provision to online environments during the pandemic has been the largest, quickest and longest transition to digital education on-campus universities have experienced to date.

PACKAGING DESIGN
I love the textures and the personality that analog techniques such as printmaking and painting bring to packaging. Colours have always been fascinating to me - from mixing them on a palette to choosing the right colour code for a packaging design. I have been looking at drawings and beautifully packaged things all my life, where do the two meet? Here's some work I did for No. 3 Clive Road as their Creative Director in New Delhi from 2016-2018. My responsibilites included creating the packaging designs, finding and doing the art direction with collaborators as well as doing the photo shoots for the luxury tea brand.

LUXURY CANDLES
Design & product development are eternal companions. I was responsible as part of a team to research scents and stories about ancient temple towns of India to develop unique fragnances and evocative imagery that would bring a moment of calm to the user. I developed the packaging after creating the artworks in watercolour and acrylic on bigger scales than the box so that the detail would be emphasised in the candles' packaging designs.

DESIGN FOR RESEARCH
I love new information. The latest studies, the findings of your recent data or the breaking down of recipe ingredients. I have always drawn in the back of my books when I was trying to understand something better at school. I am a natural visualiser and have always imagined detailed images and movies in my head when stories are being told. I am here to visualise any ideas you might want to share with your audience in any format that fits the context. I am comfortable between both analog and digital media and am lucky to have international cutting edge colleagues who come in for the projects where we want to expand the limits of animation, sound and motion graphics. This is the stuff I live for! Exciting!

Feminism in Our Times: Crises, Connections & Cares. The provocation to think 'in our times', often becomes an anticipation of certain, better, fairer futures beyond the times – and places – we currently inhabit. In this illustrated collection, contributors write in urgent times, presenting feminist insistences, which are still felt and held close. These times might not be 'ours' at all, still subject to insecurity despite all feminist work, pushed back into precarity, seen as out-of-time and place. Here, singular, plural, possessive, and collective intermingle in the illustration and designing of feminism – and feminism in our times.

The Red & Gold Pen is an illustrated book to communicate the findings of researcher Lauren Wilks (University of Edinburgh, Scotland) in collaboration with Anchita Ghatak of Parichiti, a women’s organisation that works for the rights of domestic workers (Kolkata, India) and Supurna Banerjee.
This story draws on knowledge and experience shared by fourteen domestic workers as part of a collaborative storyboarding workshop in Kolkata in January 2020. The story also draws more broadly on Lauren and Supurna’s research, and Parichiti’s experience supporting domestic workers. It highlights the daily negotiations that are involved in commuting for paid domestic work in Kolkata/India. The workshop and wider project were funded as part of a UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Postdoctoral Fellowship held by Lauren at the University of Edinburgh.
